This article caught my eye immediately:
“5,000-year-old sword is discovered by an archaeology student at a Venetian monastery.”
I couldn’t click the link fast enough.
Having been wrought into existence within another age of mankind, I had high expectations before clicking the link. What metal was it made of? Bronze? Iron? Bare rock? Pterodactyl Bone?
I was excited to see the craftsmanship of a swordsmith of the time. Would it be of ornate, intricate design? Or utilitarian and functional?
This is… the… *ahem*… “sword”:

Not much to look at, is it?
I was dismayed.
Along with smart chicks and donuts, swords are my other great love.
And this “sword” utterly failed to impress. Even accounting for age and the erosion of it’s blade, it’s just… uninspiring. A butler’s weapon, imo.
Anyway, moving along!
Current events being what they are, my latest nightly indulgence is taking a bath while eating dinner simultaneously. I feel like… I should have a name for it, but so far… nothing has occurred to me. It’s quite therapeutic, though, if you’ve never tried it. I’ve always loved hot tubs and pools, and began swimming at a very young age.
When I was kid, I remember long baths with my brothers where we’d play with our Legos and Duplos until the water was utterly cold and our mom made us get out. There are pictures of the three of us in the tub at the same time, with dozens of half-constructed vehicles, houses, rockets and weapons surrounding us, and hundreds of stray pieces floating around our elbows.
I added a few entries to the meme dump, by the way.
🙂
So, how’s your day been?
