Odd drawing requests are always welcome, for several reasons.

A) They’re a good chance to experiment, and to improve at drawing uncommon subject matter.
B) They’re amusing; often hilarious.
C) It’s sort of like you’re doing my job for me.

Before you ask, the answer is yes, today’s comic really was an actual drawing request. It came from my coworker, Oleg, who’s from Russia. Now, I don’t know if the Russian people hold a certain reverence for the common housefly, the way the Native Americans revered the buffalo, but I wasn’t about to let the man down by denying him such a simple, bizarre request.
